What could be better than that fresh from the salon, silky smooth hair feeling, I hear you ask? Achieving it for yourself at home, without breaking the bank.
MONDAY is a disruptive new haircare brand that’s bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘luxury for less’. With formulas that focus as much on what’s in the products, as what’s been left out, they’ve created an affordable alternative to overpriced hair products that let you keep that salon-fresh feeling going at home.
The New Zealand brand was founded by entrepreneur and beauty enthusiast, Jaimee Lupton, whose own frustrations sparked her inspiration to solve a problem that women have been faced with for years.
“I’m a huge believer that every person, no matter their story, should be entitled to look and feel good. The lack of transparency and extortionate pricing across the beauty sector is what gave me the idea to start MONDAY,” says Jaimee.
“MONDAY boasts formulations that have been through seven stages of research and development in order to exceed the performance of reputable salon brands.”
Unlike other big beauty brands who shy away from science in favour of fancy marketing lingo, MONDAY isn’t scared to talk about the nitty-gritty details of their ingredient lists.
“Broadly speaking, all shampoos and conditioners have similar base formulations, that revolve around cleansing, foaming, and moisturising agents, with humectants that support smoothing of hair follicles. However, what differentiates the more ‘premium’ products from those which are more ‘mainstream’ is the use of functional extracts,” says Jaimee.
“Based on this, we created formulations which not only perform exceptionally well, but are also supported with additional, natural extracts, and 11 amino acids, without the use of sulphates and parabens. Doing so ultimately provides the customer with a quality clean, whilst also moisturising and nourishing hair follicles for long-term hair health.”
All of MONDAY’s products are cruelty-free and made without parabens or SLS, common haircare ingredients that are less than friendly to your locks. And to dispel all of that confusion and misconception that surrounds haircare products, they’ve created an extensive ingredient glossary on their website so you know exactly what you’re getting.
From natural extracts like coconut, jojoba, ginger root, sunflower seed to hydrating heroes such as pro-vitamin b5, there’s over 60 ingredients in every bottle of MONDAY’s range that have all been carefully chosen for very good reason.
And it’s not just women on a tight beauty budget who have been loving the MONDAY range. International supermodel, Georgia Fowler, along with Australia’s very own queen of brows, Kristen Fisher, are both devoted users and partners of the brand.
“Over the course of my career, I’ve been lucky enough to be exposed to quality haircare and have noticed an immense difference in my hair quality since using these products. MONDAY stood out to me because we share the belief that salon-quality products should be made more accessible,” says Georgia.
“With my busy work and travel schedule, my hair’s durability is tested all the time and demands to look done most days of the week. I chose to partner with MONDAY because I’ve noticed visible results since using it as part of my routine.”
From the millennial pink recycled plastic packaging that makes for an insta-worthy shelfie moment, to their cruelty-free status, superior formulations and unbeatable price, it’s pretty much impossible to find a reason not to love MONDAY. Couple that with the fact you can find it at your local Coles and pick it up with your weekly groceries, and you’ve got yourself a real winner.
