Halloween equals sugar, it just does. And for all those mums, dads, brothers, sisters and fun aunts and uncles out there it can be hard to navigate the sugary maze that surrounds time of the year.

We all know that excess sugar in the diet can contribute to obesity, behavioural issues and tooth decay and should generally be avoided. However, with Halloween just around the corner, it’s likely that the little ones will be nagging you for treats more incessantly than usual. So, while healthier sugar alternatives shouldn’t be consumed daily (it’s still sugar after all) there are plenty of healthy candy options that can be enjoyed that provide some nutritional benefits with every bite.
